2010 Rally Jamaica Champion Gary “The Colonel” Gregg
Born June 12th 1962, Gary “The Colonel” Gregg is one of the most popular drivers in competition in Jamaica. He started racing in 1979 while living in Barbados, later to be called “Speedy” Gregg. Gary became well know in the racing fraternity across the island and he took this drive with him when he returned to Jamaica in 1983.
In the late 1980 motor sports took off in Jamaica and Gary got involved with active competition and has enjoyed success in all forms of motor sportL: Go karting, circuit racing and rallying. In 1991 The Jamaica Motoring Club started its December Rally, which has now become an event attracting interest from all over the world. It started as the Mazda/ESSO International Rally and was highly promoted with the attendance of many international competitors bringing with them a lot of press representatives. The event has since been mentioned every year in various motor sport magazines, high lighting not only the event but also the competitors and their cars. Gary has been a part of these events almost every year.

The Caribbean Rally Championship
The Jamaica motoring club later help create the Caribbean Rally Championship, in which Jamaica, Barbados, Guadeloupe and Trinidad was involved. This brought motor sports to another level in the Caribbean as the best of Caribbean were being highlighted. Even though the series lasted only two years the publicity carried on the event was enormous as it brought out not only the Caribbean interest but also the European interest. Gary also represented Jamaica coming 3rd Overall in the championship.
In the course of his racing pursuits, Gary has recorded many podium finishes in all genres of motor racing.

Gary Gregg is always a Championship contender regardless of the form of motor sport he competes in. Gary has competed in numerous cars mastering rear wheel, front wheel and currently working on all wheel drive. Now driving a Ford Focus World Rally Car, Gary is still learning this car and currently hopes to compete sometime in an international event hosted in England or Europe. However with the reintroduction the Caribbean NACAM Championship who knows, he might claim that Championship also.
